Coronavirus (COVID-19) Updates

**10 AM Service and Children's Sunday School is Canceled for December 6th and December 13th.**

Someone who attended the 10 o'clock service on Sunday November 29th has recently tested positive for COVID-19. According to our COVID-19 Response Plan will we will cancel the 10 o'clock service for the next two weeks (Dec. 6th & 13th). We will also cancel Children's Sunday School classes that meet during the 10 o'clock hour for two weeks. We will have worship this Sunday in the LEC for the 8:45 AM service and in the Sanctuary for the 11 AM service. We will live stream the 8:45 AM service and 11 AM service for anyone who wishes to join us for worship online. Thank you for your understanding and please be in prayer for our church and our members as we navigate this season!

***COVID-19 RESPONSE PLAN***

The deacons have met and decided on a plan to move forward in the event of a COVID-19 case at one of our services. Below is a video from Preacher Bobby explaining that plan as well as a letter from Preacher Bobby. Please take the time to read carefully and pray for our church during this time!

Our Deacons had a wonderful meeting this past Sunday night.  We had ten Deacons to meet in person, and three joined by Zoom.  Two of our Deacons were on a mission trip, and one had notified us he would be out of town.  All of that is to say we are blessed with wonderful Deacons who love the Lord and Florence and want to see us move forward.  We discussed a Covid 19 Response Plan.  Below are the highlights.

If we have someone to attend worship and later test positive for Covid 19, we will identify/specify the service in which there was a positive case.  The Deacons and the Church will be notified.

Everyone who attended that worship service will be notified by phone, text or email that we had a positive case and asked to worship via live stream for two Sundays as a safety precaution.

We will cancel that service for two Sundays, but the other worship services will continue.

How will this actually work in practice?  We had someone who attended the 8:45 service on September 6 to test positive last Wednesday, September 9.  Under our plan, we have attempted to notify everyone who attended the 8:45 service on September 6.

Obviously, we canceled all the services for September 13, so the 8:45 service was canceled.

We will not have the 8:45 service this Sunday, September 20, but we will have the 10:00 service in the gym and the 11:00 service in the Sanctuary this coming Sunday.  In other words, the service in question will be canceled for two weeks, but the other worship services will continue.  In this way, we will not have to shut everything down.  We are asking those who attended the 8:45 service on September 6 to worship with us via live stream September 13 and 20.

If there are no further positive cases, then all three worship services will resume on September 27.  If there are additional positives, then the Deacons and Church will be notified, and we will reevaluate.  The Deacons will monitor and evaluate this plan monthly going forward.

It is vitally important that we keep our eyes on Jesus, that we stay united and that we support one another.  Let’s pray for each other and lift each other up.  Let’s communicate with each other.  Let nothing divide us!  We’re all dealing with this in every area of our lives.  It tends to put us on edge, but God is on His throne, and you are the most wonderful people in the world.  Let’s keep praying, loving and working together!  We will be better and stronger than ever!
